I FINALLY have some good news!!! I got my short term substitute teaching license!!! The reason this is such good news is because: 1) I will now be able to work at a job I can handle. 2) It will bring me more income than nearly anything else I've had. And 3) I've already recovered from a bout of COVID and plan on adding (also Dr recommended) a booster. So not as many worries.
I'm super excited. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll even be able to pay my living expenses debts (from just the last 9 months) off before June of '23 when the license ends, BUT I can definitely fund my life and basic needs as well as look for/develop more permanent, lucrative employment.
This is honestly some of the best news I could get.

Jan 28@CKBlossom Thank you! I do not have a bachelor's degree. That's why I explained needing to get more years of education. Sorry f that sounded defensive. It's not meant to sound that way. It would just be very difficult for me to become a full time teacher especially since teaching children (specifically) is not a passion for me. Teaching, maybe. Teaching music? Yes. Teaching programming? Yes. But children, although very important, is very challenging for me. It doesn't mean I don't understand the importance or need to teach children well. But I am just not "good with kids" by default. And it has much less to do with being ignorant and much more to do with anxiety (just being around kids), and not being as capable of discerning emotional expression as well as many other people. I've unintentionally made a couple of kids I've taught cry before! I felt SO bad, and it wasn't their fault. I just didn't catch that they were getting upset (another reason I think I'm on the autistic spectrum). It IS something that I try to focus on much more intently these days simply through experience. Regardless, I digress. If I did go on to get a bachelor's degree, I'd rather get it so I can teach college and avoid all that makes teaching in public schools so challenging.
