My wife has decided that she is now non-binary. She's now changing everything about herself to fully embrace a non-gendered version of herself. But as a cis-het male, I am attracted to her/them as a woman. She isn't happy about that, but we're doing our best. Still, she's becoming a very different person than the woman I married. I miss my female partner. I don't know what to do. We have two small children.

What does they ultimately want? I am proud of them for being their true self and for you trying to embrace who they are, but this obviously changes the dynamic. Have you two talked about what this means for your relationship, your sex life, have you discussed counseling to help you discuss everything in a safe and empowering way?

I am not trying to embrace who they are now professing to be. I don't think I can do that in a romantic capacity. If we survive this, that will just be how it has to be: that I get to view my relationship as with their feminine side and just ignore the rest in a romantic capacity. But I'm not sure that's enough, especially sexually. We have explored this with a therapist and this is where it's gotten to. So maybe now we're not necessarily compatible enough any more. Even though we were the most perfect match imaginable on the day we married. It's just an awful situation with no good outcomes.
